A telephone booth, telephone call box, telephone box or public call box is a small structure furnished with a payphone and designed for a telephone user's convenience. The world's first telephone box called "Fernesprecherkiosk", was opened on January 12, 1881 at Potsdamer Platz, Berlin. The red telephone box was designed by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott and it was a familiar sight on the streets of the United Kingdom, Malta, Bermuda and Gibraltar. The red telephone box was the result of a competition in 1924 to design a kiosk that would be acceptable to the London Metropolitan Boroughs.

The ship was designed by a team of British naval architects led by Stephen Payne, and was constructed in France by Chantiers de l'Atlantique. Queen Mary 2‍ '​s facilities include fifteen restaurants and bars, five swimming pools, a casino, a ballroom, a theatre, and the first planetarium at sea. Like her predecessor Queen Elizabeth 2 she is built for crossing the Atlantic Ocean.
