Shire Horse Grazing

Shire Horse Grazing

Usually black, bay, or grey, the Shire is a British breed of draught horse. The Shire has a great capacity for weight-pulling, and has been popular throughout its history for pulling brewer's drays delivering ale to customers. The largest horse in recorded history was probably a Shire named Mammoth, born in 1848. He stood 219 cm high, and his peak weight was estimated at 1,524 kilograms.
Sea Turtle

Sea Turtle

In today's puzzle we feature a beautiful sea turtle swimming. There are seven species of sea turtles. They are the leatherback sea turtle, loggerhead sea turtle, green sea turtle, flatback sea turtle, olive ridley sea turtle, hawksbill sea turtle and Kemp's ridley sea turtle. They are mostly omnivorous (feeding on a wide range of animals and plants), except for the green sea turtle which is herbivorous (eating only plants).
Doves

Doves

Another fun puzzle is here. Today we feature a pair of doves building a nest in a flower filled tree. In general, the terms "dove" and "pigeon" are used somewhat interchangeably. In ornithological practice, "dove" tends to be used for smaller species and "pigeon" for larger ones. Doves are stout-bodied birds with short necks, and have short, slender bills with fleshy ceres. Doves feed on seeds, fruits, and plants. Pigeons and doves are distributed everywhere on Earth. The largest number of species is found in tropical forests and woodlands. These species may be arboreal, terrestrial or semiterrestrial. Various species also inhabit savannas, grasslands, deserts, temperate woodlands and forests, mangrove forests, and even the barren sands and gravels of atolls. This puzzle is based on a illustration by John James Audubon from his color-plate book entitled "The Birds of America".
Lemurs

Lemurs

A fun jigsaw featuring two cute lemurs. Lemurs are a clade of strepsirrhine primates endemic to the island of Madagascar. They are named after the lemures (ghosts or spirits) of Roman mythology due to the ghostly vocalizations, reflective eyes, and the nocturnal habits of some species. Although lemurs often are confused with ancestral primates, the anthropoid primates (monkeys, apes, and humans) did not evolve from them; instead, lemurs merely share morphological and behavioral traits with basal primates. Ranging in size from 30 g (1.1 oz) to 9 kg (20 lb), lemurs share many common, basal primate traits, such as divergent digits on their hands and feet and nails instead of claws (in most species). However, their brain-to-body size ratio is smaller than that of anthropoid primates, and among many other traits they share with other strepsirrhine primates, they have a "wet nose" (rhinarium). Lemurs are generally the most social of the strepsirrhine primates and communicate more with scents and vocalizations than with visual signals.
Donkeys

Donkeys

Another fun animal puzzle is here. Today we have two cute donkeys. Donkeys have a notorious reputation for stubbornness, but this has been attributed to a much stronger sense of "self preservation" than exhibited by horses. It is considerably more difficult to force or frighten a donkey into doing something it perceives to be dangerous for whatever reason. But once a person has earned their confidence they can be willing and companionable partners and very dependable in work.
Spotted Seals

Spotted Seals

The spotted seal inhabits ice floes and waters of the north Pacific Ocean and adjacent seas. It is primarily found along the continental shelf of the Beaufort, Chukchi, Bering and Okhotsk Seas and south to the northern Yellow Sea and it migrates south as far as northern Huanghai and the western Sea of Japan. Spotted seals are relatively shy and are difficult for humans to approach.
Garden Snail

Garden Snail

The garden snail or Helix Aspersa is a species of land snail, a pulmonate gastropod that is one of the best-known of all terrestrial molluscs. This species is native to the Mediterranean region and western Europe, from northwest Africa and Iberia east to Asia Minor, and north to the British Isles. The garden snail is a herbivore and has a wide range of host plants (It feeds on plants only). It feeds on numerous types of fruit trees, vegetable crops, garden flowers, and cereals. It is a food source for many other animals, including small mammals, many bird species, lizards, frogs, centipedes, predatory insects, and predatory terrestrial snails.
