Prong Buck Puzzle Details:

About: Indigenous to interior western and central North America the prong buck is a species of artiodactyl mammal Although not an antelope, it is often known colloquially in North America as the pronghorn antelope or simply antelope. Each "horn" of the pronghorn is composed of a slender, laterally flattened blade of bone that grows from the frontal bones of the skull, forming a permanent core. Unlike the horns of the family Bovidae, the horn sheaths of the pronghorn are branched, each sheath possessing a forward-pointing tine. The pronghorn is the fastest land mammal in the Western Hemisphere, being built for maximum predator evasion through running.

Baby Wild Boar

Baby Wild Boar

Native to much of Eurasia and North Africa the wild board is also known as the Eurasian wild pig. Is's a a bulky, massively built suid with short and relatively thin legs. The size and weight of adult animals is largely determined by environmental factors; boars living in arid areas tend to attain smaller sizes than their counterparts inhabiting areas with abundant food and water. Coat colour also varies with age, with piglets having light brown (like the one featured in this fun animal themed puzzle) or rusty-brown fur with pale bands extending from the flanks and back. Piglets are vulnerable to attack from lynx, jungle cats and snow leopards and other carnivorans like brown bears and yellow-throated martens. That's why the never leave their mothers side in the first months of their live. So if you're ever in the woods and see a cute pigglet like the one in this jigsaw be aware the mom is now far behind and it might consider you a threat. Boars are typically social animals, living in female-dominated groups. The wild boar is a highly versatile omnivore, whose diversity in choice of food rivals that of humans.
Guinea Pig

Guinea Pig

A fun new jigsaw featuring a cute guinea pig playing in the grass. The scientific name of the common species is Cavia porcellus, with porcellus being Latin for "little pig". Cavia is New Latin; it is derived from cabiai, the animal's name in the language of the Galibi tribes once native to French Guiana.Cabiai may be an adaptation of the Portuguese cavia (now savia), which is itself derived from the Tupi word sauja, meaning rat. How the animals came to be called "pigs" is not clear. They are built somewhat like pigs, with large heads relative to their bodies, stout necks, and rounded rumps with no tail of any consequence; some of the sounds they emit are very similar to those made by pigs, and they also spend a large amount of time eating. They can survive for long periods in small quarters, like a 'pig pen', and were thus easily transported on ships to Europe.
