About: This venomous snake lives in a wide array of habitats and hunts small animals such as birds and rodents. They lie in wait for their prey, or hunt for it in holes. They are native to the Americas, living in diverse habitats from southwestern Canada to central Argentina. The largest number of rattlesnakes live in Mexico and the American Southwest.Rattlesnake populations in many areas are severely threatened by habitat destruction, poaching, and extermination campaigns. They are also preyed upon by a variety of species, including ravens, crows, skunks, roadrunners, weasels, raccoons, opossums, coyotes, and king snakes. If you didn't know they take their name from the rattle located at the end of their tails, which makes a loud rattling noise when vibrated. The rattling sound are meant to deter predators or warn to passers-by that they are entering the snakes territory. Now that you know about it, think you can put this impressive snake back together? Click start and give it a try!
