About: Also known as the Persian hound, the Saluki, is a breed of dog, developed from sighthounds that was once used by nomadic tribes to run down game animals. The breed is most closely related to the Afghan hound. Salukis are usually 23-28 inches (58-71 cm) high at the withers and 35-65 pounds (16-29 kg) in weight, they have long and narrow heads with large eyes and drop ears and a long and curved tail.
