About: We're at the racing track again and we're just in time to see a the crew prepare a car that has just stopped in the pits. A racing car stops in the pits during a race for refueling, repairs, new tires, mechanical adjustments, a driver change, or any combination of the above. In any racing series that permits scheduled pit stops, pit strategy becomes one of the most important features of the race. During a ten-second pit stop, a car's competitors can gain an advantage of approximately one-quarter mile on the stopped car.
