Today's new jigsaw takes us to the beautiful coast of the Mediterranean Sea in Dubrovnik, Croatia. The impressive building on the rocky seashore in the top left corner of the puzzle image is Fort Lovrijenac ( or St. Lawrence Fortress). Often called "Dubrovnik's Gibraltar",the fortress is located outside the western wall of the city. It stands 37 m above sea level. Lovrijenac has a triangular shape with three terraces. The thickness of the walls facing the outside reach 12 m. On the right side of the image (where you can see a medieval canon) you can also see part of Fort Bokar.

Metz is a city in the northeast of France located at the confluence of the Moselle and the Seille rivers. Metz is the capital and the prefecture of both the Lorraine region and the Moselle department. The city is located near the tripoint along the junction of France, Germany, and Luxembourg. After the defeat of France during the Franco-Prussian War and according to the Treaty of Frankfurt, the city was annexed into the German Empire, being part of the Imperial Territory of Alsace-Lorraine and serving as capital of the German Department of Lorraine. Metz remained German until the end of World War I, when it reverted to France. However, after the Battle of France during the Second World War, the city was annexed once more by the German Third Reich.In 1944, the attack on the city by the U.S. Third Army freed the city from German rule.

Schloss Ort is an Austrian castle situated in the Traunsee lake, in Gmunden. It was built around 1080 by Hartnidus of Ort, and improvements continued to be made into the thirteenth century. From 1484 to 1491, the castle was governed by Gotthard von Starhenberg, the Governor of Upper Austria. In 1492, Bernhard of Starhenberg and later his descendants ruled the castle until 1584. In 1876, the castle was acquired by Archduke John Salvator of Austria (John of Tuscany). The castle was later acquired by Franz Joseph I of Austria (in 1914). On January 5, 1995, the castle was officially acquired by the city of Gmunden. At present the castle is being used for a study center of the Federal Ministry for Land and Forestry. Hohensalzburg castle is one of the largest medieval castles in Europe. It is located in the Austrian city of Salzburg, atop the Festungsberg mountain. Construction of the fortress began in 1077 under Archbishop Gebhard von Helfenstein. The ring walls and towers were built in 1462 under Prince-Archbishop Burkhard II von WeiƟpriach. Prince-Archbishop Leonhard von Keutschach during his term from 1495 until 1519 further expanded the castle. In the 19th century, it was used as barracks, storage depot and dungeon before being abandoned as a military outpost in 1861. Hohensalzburg castle was refurbished from the late 19th century onwards and became a major tourist attraction with the Festungsbahn cable car, opened in 1892, leading up from the town to the Hasengrabenbastei. It stands today as one of the best preserved castles in Europe.

Kamianets-Podilskyi is a city on the Smotrych River in western Ukraine, to the north-east of Chernivtsi. Modern Kamianets-Podilskyi was first mentioned in 1062 as a town of the Kievan Rus' state. In 1352, it was annexed by the Polish King Casimir III. The ancient castle, featured in his fun jigsaw puzzles, was reconstructed and substantially expanded by the Polish kings to defend Poland from the southwest against Ottoman and Tatar invasions, thus it was called the gateway to Poland.

The Scaligero Castle is a fortress from the Scaliger era (The Della Scala family, whose members were known as Scaligeri ,was the ruling family of Verona and mainland Veneto (except for Venice) from 13th to 14th century, for a total of 125 years) located in Sirmione (a comune in the province of Brescia, in Lombardy, northern Italy). Thanks to its strategical geographical location as a border outpost, Sirmione became a crucial defense and control garrison for the ruling nobles, retaining this function until the sixteenth century. The massive fortress is totally surrounded by water and from the drawbridge, a staircase leads to the walkways above the walls, providing a marvelous view of the harbour.
