About: Leeds Castle is located 8 km south-east of Maidstone, Kent, England, dates back to 1119. In 1278 the castle came into the hands of King Edward I, for whom it became a favorite residence. The castle seen today dates mostly from the 19th century and is built on islands in a lake formed by the River Len to the east of the village of Leeds.

From 1957 to 1988 its grounds were the home of the Royal Observatory, Greenwich. Today the Herstmonceux Castle (a brick-built Tudor castle near Herstmonceux, East Sussex, England) is used by the Bader International Study Centre of Queen's University, Canada. The town was originally an Old Prussian settlement known as Lecbarg until being conquered in 1240 by the Teutonic Knights, who named it Heilsberg. A third of the palace was destroyed in 1913 by a fire but it was reconstructed. Starting in the 1950 it has been a college for kindergarten teachers, a museum and since 1990 is has once again been a the seat of he state assembly of the State of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

This beautiful nineteenth-century palace is located on a steep hill above the village of Hohenschwangau in southwest Bavaria, Germany was commissioned by Ludwig II as a retreat and as a homage to Richard Wagner (a German composer, theatre director, polemicist, and conductor who is primarily known for his operas). In the nineteenth century, many castles were constructed or reconstructed, often with significant changes to make them more picturesque. The building design was drafted by the stage designer Christian Jank and realized by the architect Eduard Riedel. The foundation stone for the palace was laid on September 5, 1869. The castle was erected as a conventional brick construction and later encased in various types of rock. It is furnished, as you can see in this fun new puzzle, with numerous towers, ornamental turrets, gables, balconies, pinnacles and sculptures. If it looks familiar it's because it served as a model for the Sleeping Beauty Castle of Disneyland.
