About: Today's new puzzle is based on Joachim Beuckelaer's painting "Marché aux poissons" (Fish Market). It was originally painted on wood by the Flemish painter in 1568. Beuckelaer was born in Antwerp and learned to paint in the workshop of his uncle, Pieter Aertsen. Joachim Beuckelaer specialized in market and kitchen scenes like the one in this jigsaw.

The British Channel Fleet under Admiral Lord Howe attempted to prevent the passage of a vital French grain convoy from the United States, which was protected by the French Atlantic Fleet, commanded by Vice-Admiral Louis Thomas Villaret de Joyeuse. The two forces clashed in the Atlantic Ocean, some 400 nautical miles (741 km) west of the French island of Ushant on 1 June 1794. This jigsaw is based on Philippe-Jacques de Loutherbourg's painting depicting this naval battle.
