About: Bread rolls, croissants, bagels, baguettes, loafs of white and whole wheat bread , slice bread and other freshly baked backed goods are all on display a the bakery (also known a as baker's shop or a bake shop) we are visiting in today's new puzzle. Baked goods have been around for thousands of years. Baking flourished during the Roman Empire. Beginning around 300 BC, the pastry cook became an occupation for Romans (known as the pastillarium) and became a respected profession. A bakers' guild was established in 168 BC in Rome. In addition to bread, baking is used to prepare cakes, pastries , pies, quiches, cookies, scones, tarts, crackers, pretzels, and more. Baking can also be used to prepare various other foods such as pizzas, baked potatoes, baked apples, baked beans, some casseroles and pasta dishes.
