Downtown Cincinnati Puzzle Details:

About: This new puzzle features a beautiful urban landscape - part of downtown Cincinnati's skyline and the John A. Roebling Suspension Bridge over the Ohio River. The suspension Bridge spans the Ohio River between Cincinnati, Ohio and Covington, Kentucky. When the first opened to traffic on December 1, 1866, it was the longest suspension bridge in the world at 322 m main span. The original deck of the bridge was built at the lowest possible cost due to Civil War inflation, but the stone towers were designed to carry a much heavier load than was originally demanded. In 1896, the bridge was painted blue (rather than brown) and received a second set of main cables, a wider steel deck, and a longer northern approach.

Lighthouse Island

Lighthouse Island

In today's new jigsaw puzzle we feature a great view of a small island hosting a light tower. Lighthouses mark dangerous coastlines, hazardous shoals, reefs, safe entries to harbors, and can also assist in aerial navigation. Once widely used, the number of operational lighthouses has declined due to the expense of maintenance and replacement by modern electronic navigational systems. Before modern strobe lights, lenses were used to concentrate the light from a continuous source. Vertical light rays of the lamp are redirected into a horizontal plane, and horizontally the light is focused into one or a few directions at a time, with the light beam swept around.

View Of The Great Wall Of China

View Of The Great Wall Of China

Built along an east-to-west line across the historical northern borders of China to protect the Chinese states and empires against the raids and invasions of the various nomadic groups of the Eurasian Steppe, the Great Wall of China is one of the most well known landmarks in China and the world. Before the use of bricks, the Great Wall was mainly built from rammed earth, stones, and wood. During the Ming, however, bricks were heavily used in many areas of the wall, as were materials such as tiles, lime, and stone. While portions north of Beijing and near tourist centers have been preserved and even extensively renovated, in many other locations the Wall is in disrepair.

Beautiful Sunset

Beautiful Sunset

Relax with today's puzzle and take in the beautiful and colorful sunset featured in this new game. If you didn't know, sunset colors are typically more brilliant than sunrise colors, because the evening air contains more particles than morning air. As a ray of white sunlight travels through the atmosphere, some of the colors are scattered out of the beam by air molecules and airborne particles, changing the final color of the beam you can see. That's why the sky at sunset is so beautifully colored.
Alpine Lakes And Forest

Alpine Lakes And Forest

In today's new puzzle we're visiting the Denali National Park in Alaska. In this beautiful image you can see the blue alpine lakes and the green forest under a blue cloudy sky. Denali National Park and Preserve is a national park and preserve located in Interior Alaska, centered on Denali (Mount McKinley), the highest mountain in North America. Glaciers cover about 16% of the 6 million acres of Denali National Park and Preserve. There are more extensive glaciers on the southeastern side of the range because more snow is dropped on this side from the moisture-bearing winds from the Gulf of Alaska. During the very cold Pleistocene climates, all of Denali was solidly frozen. In the northern areas of the range, it is very much still frozen due to continued cold temperatures. Permanently frozen ground is known as permafrost. Vegetation in the park depends on the altitude. The treeline is at 2,500 feet (760 m), causing most of the park to be a vast expanse of tundra. There are three types of forest in the park: from lowest to highest, they are low brush bog, bottomland spruce-poplar forest, upland spruce-hardwood forest. Over 450 species of flowering plants fill the park and can be viewed in bloom throughout summer.
View From The Great Wall of China

View From The Great Wall of China

In today's new puzzle we're going to visit the Great Wall of China. If you didn't know, the Great Wall of China is the collective name of a series of fortification systems generally built across the historical northern borders of China. Apart from defense, other purposes of the Great Wall have included border controls, allowing the imposition of duties on goods transported along the Silk Road, regulation or encouragement of trade and the control of immigration and emigration. Before the use of bricks, the Great Wall was mainly built from rammed earth, stones, and wood. During the Ming, however, bricks were heavily used in many areas of the wall, as were materials such as tiles, lime, and stone. Archaeological surveys found that the entire wall with all of its branches measures out to be 21,196 km (13,171 mi). So are you waiting for? Click start, solve this fun new puzzle and see one of the most impressive architectural feats in history.
