Today we're going to Nyhavn, a 17th-century waterfront, canal and entertainment district in Copenhagen, Denmark. Nyhavn was constructed by King Christian V from 1670 to 1673. It is a gateway from the sea to the old inner city at Kongens Nytorv (King's Square), where ships handled cargo and fishermens' catch. The first bridge across Nyhavn opened on 6 February 1875. The northern side of Nyhavn is lined by brightly colored townhouses built with wood, bricks, and plaster. Click start and put the beautiful and colorful waterfront, the canal and the old boats back together for a fun puzzle solving time.
Skyscrapers

Skyscrapers

Skyscrapers are tall, continuously habitable buildings of many floors, usually designed for office, commercial and residential use. The term "skyscraper" was first applied to buildings of steel framed construction of at least 10 stories in the late 19th century, a result of public amazement at the tall buildings being built in major cities like Chicago, New York City, Philadelphia, Detroit.
Downtown Cincinnati

Downtown Cincinnati

This new puzzle features a beautiful urban landscape - part of downtown Cincinnati's skyline and the John A. Roebling Suspension Bridge over the Ohio River. The suspension Bridge spans the Ohio River between Cincinnati, Ohio and Covington, Kentucky. When the first opened to traffic on December 1, 1866, it was the longest suspension bridge in the world at 322 m main span. The original deck of the bridge was built at the lowest possible cost due to Civil War inflation, but the stone towers were designed to carry a much heavier load than was originally demanded. In 1896, the bridge was painted blue (rather than brown) and received a second set of main cables, a wider steel deck, and a longer northern approach.
Little Red Shed

Little Red Shed

Used for storage, hobbies, or as a workshop, a shed is typically a simple, single-story roofed structure. The main types of shed construction are metal sheathing over a metal frame, plastic sheathing and frame, all-wood construction (like the little red one featured in this fun new puzzle), and vinyl-sided sheds built over a wooden frame. Wooden sheds have a natural look that can blend in well with garden and natural environments. Depending on the region and type of use, a shed may also be called an "outhouse", "outbuilding" or "shack".

Birch Trees

Birch Trees

Birch species are generally small to medium-sized trees or shrubs, mostly of northern temperate and boreal climates. They are a typically rather short-lived pioneer species, rapidly colonizing open ground. In Celtic cultures, the birch symbolizes growth, renewal, stability, initiation and adaptability because it is highly adaptive and able to sustain harsh conditions with casual indifference. The bark of all birches is characteristically marked with long, horizontal lenticels, and often separates into thin, papery plates. White-barked birches, like the ones in this fun nature themed jigsaw puzzles, are cultivated as ornamental trees, largely for their appearance in winter.

The two buildings in the top left part of today's jigsaw are know as the "new granaries" have built in 1995-1998, by award-winning designers of an architectural competition, project architects Andrzej Bulanda and Vladimir Mucha from Warsaw.
