About: Today we're visiting the Langkofel Group - a massif in the western Dolomites. The six main summits of the group (Langkofel/Sassolungo, Fünffingerspitze/Punta d. Cinque Dita, Grohmannspitze/Punta Grohmann, Innerkofler Turm/Torre Innerkofler, Zahnkofel/Il Dente and Plattkofel/Sassopiatto) are arranged in the shape of a horse-shoe opened to NW. The massif separates Gröden (to the north) and the Fassa valley (to the south), as well as the Sella massif (to the east) and the Rosengarten (to the west).The highest point in the range is the eponymous Langkofel with a height of 3,181 metres.

The Dresden Frauenkirche (Church of Our Lady) is a Lutheran church and an outstanding example of Protestant sacred architecture, featuring one of the largest domes in Europe. Built in the 18th century, the church was destroyed in the bombing of Dresden during World War II. The church was rebuilt after the reunification of Germany, starting in 1994. Legend has it that Gangerolf (outside of Norway better known as Rollo), the 10th-century founder of the dynasty of the dukes of Normandy, came from the community of Giske, north-west of Ålesund. The oldest document referring to Groningen's existence dates from 1040. The Winschoterdiep canal has total length is 35.5 kilometers, and it is approximately 100 meters in width. Sixteen bridges and locks are built across this canal, as well as many other passages. It is one of the oldest canals ever built in Groningen still in use.
