San Francisco Cable Car

Today we're going to San Francisco for a cable car ride in this new urban landscape puzzle. An icon of San Francisco, California, the cable car system forms part of the intermodal urban transport network operated by the San Francisco Municipal Railway, or "Muni" as it is better known. Of the twenty-three lines established between 1873 and 1890, three remain: two routes from downtown near Union Square to Fisherman's Wharf, and a third route along California Street. The first successful cable-operated street railway was the Clay Street Hill Railroad, which opened on August 2, 1873. The cable cars are pulled by a cable running below the street, held by a grip that extends from the car through a slit in the street surface, between the rails.

A fun puzzle featuring a snowy owl. The Snowy Owl is a large owl of the typical owl family Strigidae. The bird is also known in North America as the Arctic Owl, Great White Owl or Harfang. This yellow-eyed, black-beaked white bird is easily recognizable. It is 52–71 centimetres long, with a 125–150 centimetres wingspan. Also, these birds can weigh anywhere from 1.6 to 3 kilograms. It is one of the largest species of owl and, in North America, is on average the heaviest owl species. The adult male is virtually pure white, but females and young birds have some dark scalloping; the young are heavily barred, and dark spotting may even predominate. Its thick plumage, heavily feathered taloned feet, and colouration render the Snowy Owl well-adapted for life north of the Arctic Circle.
