Hot Air Balloon Race Play

Hot Air Balloon Race

Today we're going to a hot air balloon race. Pick your difficulty level, click start and put the colorful hot air balloons back together as fast as you can and join the race. The first manned hot air balloon flight was performed by Jean-Francois Pilatre de Rozier and Francois Laurent d'Arlandes on November 21, 1783, in Paris, France, in a balloon created by the Montgolfier brothers. If you didn't know, the hot air balloon is the first successful human-carrying flight technology. A hot air balloon for manned flight uses a single-layered, fabric gas bag, with an opening at the bottom. Attached to the envelope is a basket, or gondola, for carrying the passengers. Mounted above the basket is the "burner", which injects a flame into the envelope, heating the air within. Increasing the air temperature inside the envelope makes it less dense than the surrounding air. The balloon floats because of the buoyant force exerted on it.

If you didn't know, the first gasoline pump was invented and sold by Sylvanus Bowser in Fort Wayne, Indiana on September 5, 1885. The pump was not used for automobiles, as they had not been invented yet. It was instead used for some kerosene lamps and stoves. Many early gasoline pumps had a calibrated glass cylinder on top. The desired quantity of fuel was pumped up into the cylinder as indicated by the calibration. Then the pumping was stopped and the gasoline was let out into the customer's tank by gravity.

In today's new jigsaw puzzles we're visiting Uzbekistan and were buying these beautiful pottery figure souvenirs to remind us of the trip here. Once part of the Persian Samanid and later Timurid empires, the region which today includes the Republic of Uzbekistan was conquered in the early 16th century by nomads who spoke an Eastern Turkic language. This region was subsequently incorporated into the Russian Empire in the 19th century, and in 1924 it became a bordered constituent republic of the Soviet Union, known as the Uzbek Soviet Socialist Republic (Uzbek SSR). It subsequently became the independent Republic of Uzbekistan on August 31, 1991. Most of Uzbekistan’s population today belong to the Uzbek ethnic group and speak the Uzbek language, a language belonging to the family of Turkic languages.
