It is believed that it was constructed from 3000 BC to 2000 BC. Stonehenge was produced by a culture that left no written records. The site, specifically the great trilithon, the encompassing horseshoe arrangement of the five central trilithons, the heel stone, and the embanked avenue, are aligned to the sunset of the winter solstice and the opposing sunrise of the summer solstice. Colorful World Globe Closeup

Colorful World Globe Closeup

Globes serve similar purposes to maps, but unlike maps, do not distort the surface that they portray except to scale it down. Flat maps are created using a map projection that inevitably introduces an increasing amount of distortion the larger the area that the map shows. The sphericity of the Earth was established by Greek astronomy in the 3rd century BC, and the earliest terrestrial globe appeared from that period. Traditionally, globes were manufactured by gluing a printed paper map onto a sphere, often made from wood. Usually a globe is mounted so that its spin axis is 23.5° from vertical, which is the angle the Earth's spin axis deviates from perpendicular to the plane of its orbit. In today's new puzzle we can see part of such a globe - we can see Europe, parts of north Africa and east Asia. Pick a difficulty level and start putting the colorful countries back together and relax with today's new puzzle. Have fun!

Wall Clocks

Wall Clocks

Lots and lots of wall clocks in today's puzzle. If you didn't know, The first geared clock was invented in the 11th century by the Arab engineer Ibn Khalaf al-Muradi in Islamic Iberia; it was a water clock that employed a complex gear train mechanism. The invention of the mechanical clock in the 13th century initiated a change in timekeeping methods from continuous processes, such as the motion of the gnomon's shadow on a sundial or the flow of liquid in a water clock, to periodic oscillatory processes, such as the swing of a pendulum or the vibration of a quartz crystal. In mechanical clocks, the power source is typically either a weight suspended from a cord or chain wrapped around a pulley, sprocket or drum; or a spiral spring called a mainspring. In electric clocks, the power source is either a battery or the AC power line.

Small And Colorful Fishing Boat

Small And Colorful Fishing Boat

Click start and join us for a fishing trip on the small and colorful boat featured in this fun new puzzle. Fishing is an ancient practice that dates back to at least the beginning of the Upper Paleolithic period about 40,000 years ago. Techniques for catching fish include hand gathering, spearing, netting, angling and trapping. The early evolution of fishing as recreation is not clear. Recreational fishing took a great leap forward after the English Civil War, where a newly found interest in the activity left its mark on the many books and treatises that were written on the subject at the time. Recreational fishers fish for pleasure, sport, or to provide food for themselves, while commercial fishers fish for profit. Artisanal fishers use traditional, low-tech methods, for survival in third-world countries, and as a cultural heritage in other countries. Usually, recreational fishers use angling methods and commercial fishers use netting methods.

Leather Belts

In the western world, belts have been more common for men, with the exception of the early Middle Ages, late 17th century Mantua, and skirt/blouse combinations between 1900 and 1910. Belts are usually made out of materials like leather that are both strong and light. In today's challenging puzzle we feature lots and lots of brown and black leather belts.
