Mailboxes Puzzle Details:

About: The mail is here! Today we feature four curbside style mailboxes. The traditional dome-rectangular or 'tunnel-top' design first established in 1915 by postal regulations in the U.S. Currently, curbside mailboxes are classified as (T) Traditional, (C) Contemporary, or (L) Locking. Traditional or Contemporary non-locking curbside mailboxes are approved in three sizes - No. 1, No. 2, or No. 3, measured by minimum interior dimensions. These kind of mail boxes also come fitted with a semaphore or signal flag mounted on an attached arm. This flag is used to signal the postman or the owner that new mail needs to be picked up.

Colorful World Globe Closeup Play

Colorful World Globe Closeup

Globes serve similar purposes to maps, but unlike maps, do not distort the surface that they portray except to scale it down. Flat maps are created using a map projection that inevitably introduces an increasing amount of distortion the larger the area that the map shows. The sphericity of the Earth was established by Greek astronomy in the 3rd century BC, and the earliest terrestrial globe appeared from that period. Traditionally, globes were manufactured by gluing a printed paper map onto a sphere, often made from wood. Usually a globe is mounted so that its spin axis is 23.5° from vertical, which is the angle the Earth's spin axis deviates from perpendicular to the plane of its orbit. In today's new puzzle we can see part of such a globe - we can see Europe, parts of north Africa and east Asia.
