Colored Thumb Tacks
Time for a new puzzle. Today we feature a bunch of colored thumb tacks. Thumb tacks or push pins are a short nail or pin used to fasten items to a wall or board for display and intended to be inserted by hand, generally without the assistance of tools. Edwin Moore invented the "push-pin" in 1900. Later, in 1904, German clockmaker Johann Kirsten invented flat-headed thumb tacks.
A tape measure or measuring tape is a flexible ruler. Its design allows for a measure of great length to be easily carried in pocket or toolkit and permits one to measure around curves or corners. The first record of a people using a measuring device was by the Romans using marked strips of leather, but this was more like a regular ruler than a tape measure. Measuring tapes designed for carpentry or construction, like the ones in this puzzle, often use a stiff, curved metallic ribbon that can remain stiff and straight when extended, but retracts into a coil for convenient storage.

It's time to mow the lawn. So grab the lawn mower and let's go. The first lawn mower was invented by Edwin Budding in 1827 in Thrupp, just outside Stroud, in Gloucestershire. Budding's mower was designed primarily to cut the grass on sports grounds and extensive gardens. It took ten more years and further innovations to create a machine that could be drawn by animals, and sixty years before a steam-powered lawn mower was built. Modern rotary push mowers are powered by internal combustion engines or electricity. Corded electric mowers are limited in range by their trailing power cord, which may limit their use with lawns. While considered antiquated in modern times, the original type of push-powered reel mowers are still available.

This kind of waiving cat statues are called maneki-neko ( literally "beckoning cat" in Japanese; also know in English as welcoming cat, lucky cat, money cat, happy cat, beckoning cat, or fortune cat ) and are common Japanese figurines which are often believed to bring good luck to their owner. The figurine depicts a cat (traditionally a calico Japanese Bobtail) beckoning with an upright paw, and is usually displayed—often at the entrance—of shops, restaurants, pachinko parlors, and other businesses. Some of the sculptures are electric powered and have the beckoning paw moving slowly up and down in a waiving motion.
