Two Acorns

In today's new jigsaw puzzle we're going for a hike in a oak forest. The acorns, or oak nuts, you see in the puzzle image are the nuts of the oaks. The volume of the acorns may vary wildly, creating great abundance or great stress on the many animals dependent on acorns and the predators of those animals. Acorns play an important role in forest ecology. The Norse legend that Thor sheltered from a thunderstorm under an oak tree has led to the belief that having an acorn on a windowsill will prevent a house from being struck by lightning, hence the popularity of window blind pulls decorated as acorns.
