These delicious nuts are used in desserts, as confectionery to make pralines, in combination with chocolate in chocolate bars, in hazelnut cocoa spread or turned into hazelnut oil. The nuts may be eaten fresh or dried. Hazelnuts contain particularly high amounts of protein, dietary fiber, vitamin E, phosphorus, iron, manganese, thiamin and magnesium. They also contain several B vitamins, calcium, zinc, vitamin K, and potassium.
