In 1899, the artist painted 12 works from a single vantage point, focusing on an arching blue-green Japanese footbridge and the landscape around it. Monet designed and built the landscape that appears in the painting on his property in the rural community of Giverny where he moved in 1883.

This new puzzle is base on a painting by the German artist Philipp Hackert(1737-1807) and it features a view of the Gulf of Pozzuoli from Solfatara (an area of volcanic steam vents). The Gulf of Pozzuoli is a small gulf in the northwestern end of the Gulf of Naples in the Tyrrhenian Sea. The countryside around Naples was very popular with 18th and 19th century painters due to its dramatic and impressive landscapes, volcanoes and classical ruins.

Celery root, also called celeriac, knob celery, and turnip-rooted celery is a variety of celery cultivated for its edible stem and shoots. Celeriac is edible raw or cooked, and tastes similar to the leaf stalks of common celery cultivars. It may used as an ingredient in soups, casseroles, roasted, stewed, or blanched.

The painting was made in 1839 and had three versions. The alleged first version is privately owned and used to be on loan to the Germanisches Nationalmuseum in Nuremberg. The best known version is now in the Neue Pinakothek, Munich (the one featured in this puzzle). Another version was held in the National Gallery, Berlin. The one featured in this puzzle depicts a poet in his poor attic room. Spitzweg possibly borrowed his title from the drama by August von Kotzebue, The Poor Poet (1812).
