About Caracal in its Habitat: The caracal (Caracal caracal) is a medium-sized wild cat native to Africa, the Middle East, Central Asia, and India. It has a slender, muscular build, long legs, and a short reddish-golden coat with a white underside. Its most distinctive features are the long, black ear tufts, which can reach up to 5 cm in length. Adult caracals typically weigh between 8–19 kg and measure about 40–50 cm at the shoulder. They inhabit dry savannas, deserts, scrublands, and lightly forested areas, where cover and prey are available. They are primarily nocturnal and highly skilled hunters, capable of leaping up to 3 meters into the air to catch birds in flight. Their diet includes small mammals, birds, and rodents. Caracals are generally solitary, except during mating or when a mother is raising her young. // Image Credit: Wolf, Joseph, and Philip Lutley Sclater. 1861. Zoological Sketches. Vol. 1. The watercolor painting 'Magdalen College and Tower, Oxford' by George Pyne, on which this puzzle is based, was created in 1853 and beautifully captures the iconic architecture of one of Oxford's most prestigious colleges. The composition highlights the grand entrance gate, adorned with intricate Gothic stonework, set against the backdrop of the towering Magdalen Tower. Lush trees and soft light frame the scene, providing a harmonious contrast to the imposing stone structures. Figures in period attire typical of the mid-19th century add a sense of everyday life to the scene, grounding the historic architecture in its contemporary context.
This new puzzle is based on Pieter Bruegel the Elder's oil-on-panel painting "The Peasant Dance". The lively peasant scene provides the viewer with a glimpse of social history, but it is likely that Bruegel intended this painting to have a moral sense rather than simply being an affectionate portrayal of peasant life. The panel, neither signed nor dated, was painted circa 1567, at about the same time as "The Peasant Wedding".
The official portrait of George Washington, that this puzzle is based on, was painted in 1779 Charles Willson Peale to commemorate the victories of the Continental army at Trenton and Princeton, New Jersey. This battle took place during the American Revolutionary War, near Princeton, New Jersey on January 3, 1777. American historians often consider the Battle of Princeton a great victory because of the subsequent loss of control of most of New Jersey by the Crown forces. The Continental Army was led General George Washington.

"A Stranger Asking his Way at a Farm on the Moors" by Hans Smidth depicts a quiet moment of rural life in 19th-century Denmark. A horseback rider has stopped at a farmhouse to ask for directions. A farmer gestures helpfully while a woman stands nearby, spinning yarn and observing the interaction. A young child and a dog watch with curiosity, adding a sense of warmth and everyday life. Thatched-roof buildings, chickens, and scattered tools suggest a hardworking farming community. The expansive moorland and soft light create a calm, open atmosphere. Smidth’s attention to detail and human interaction reflects his deep respect for the simplicity and dignity of rural existence.

The clouded leopard (Neofelis nebulosa) is a medium-sized wild cat found primarily in the forests of Southeast Asia, including the Himalayan foothills, China, and the Malay Peninsula. It is known for its distinctive coat pattern, featuring large, cloud-shaped rosettes that provide effective camouflage in dense forest habitats. Adult clouded leopards typically weigh between 11 to 23 kilograms (24 to 51 pounds) and measure up to 110 centimeters (43 inches) in body length, with a tail nearly as long as the body. This species is highly adapted to an arboreal lifestyle, possessing short, powerful legs, large paws, and flexible ankle joints that allow it to climb headfirst down trees. Clouded leopards have the longest canine teeth relative to skull size of any living feline, enabling them to effectively hunt a variety of prey such as birds, monkeys, and small ungulates. They are solitary and elusive animals, primarily active during dawn and dusk, a behavior known as crepuscular.
