The Peasant Dance Puzzle Details:

About: This new puzzle is based on Pieter Bruegel the Elder's oil-on-panel painting "The Peasant Dance". The lively peasant scene provides the viewer with a glimpse of social history, but it is likely that Bruegel intended this painting to have a moral sense rather than simply being an affectionate portrayal of peasant life. The panel, neither signed nor dated, was painted circa 1567, at about the same time as "The Peasant Wedding".

Still Life With Flowers, Gilt Goblet And Dried Fruits

Still Life With Flowers, Gilt Goblet And Dried Fruits

Another art inspired jigsaw puzzle is here. Based on the painting "Still Life with Flowers, a Silver-gilt Goblet, Dried Fruit, Sweetmeats, Bread sticks, Wine and a Pewter Pitcher" by Clara Peeters. The composition of this painting carefully balances two principles. The objects appear casually laid on the table in apparently random order. The goal of the artist is to make the scene look lifelike. Simultaneously, the painter has labored to provide a clear and frontal view of all that is displayed. On the gilt goblet and the pewter flagon, both of which are similar to vessels in other works by Peeters, the artist painted her self-portrait – three times in the goblet and four on the pewter jug.

The British Channel Fleet under Admiral Lord Howe attempted to prevent the passage of a vital French grain convoy from the United States, which was protected by the French Atlantic Fleet, commanded by Vice-Admiral Louis Thomas Villaret de Joyeuse. The two forces clashed in the Atlantic Ocean, some 400 nautical miles (741 km) west of the French island of Ushant on 1 June 1794.
