In this new one we're going back in time and visiting Piazza del Duomo in Amalfi - a town and comune in the province of Salerno, in the region of Campania, Italy. The puzzle image is based on a 1835 painting by Martinus Rorbye. The painting depicts a view of Piazza del Duomo. In the center of the composition is the Amalfi Cathedral and the stairs leading to it. Dedicated to the Apostle Saint Andrew, the cathedral was built in the 9th and 10th centuries. Since then it has been added to and redecorated several times, overlaying Arab-Norman, Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque elements, and finally a new 19th century Norman-Arab-Byzantine facade - not visible in the image featured in this puzzle.
