Sweet William Flowers

Dianthus barbatus, or sweet William, has become a popular ornamental garden plant. It is a species of flowering plant native to southern Europe and parts of Asia. Wild plants produce red flowers with a white base, but colors in cultivars range from white, pink, red, and purple to variegated patterns. It is often said it was named in the 18th century in honour of Prince William, Duke of Cumberland. It is also said to be named after Saint William of York or after William the Conqueror.

Train Crosses A High Trestle

Today we're going to the Rocky Mountain town of Georgetown and taking the Georgetown Loop Railroad scenic train to see breathtaking landscape. The Georgetown Loop Railroad is a 3 ft (914 mm) narrow gauge United States heritage railroad located in the Rocky Mountains in Clear Creek Count. This tourist train runs between the communities of Georgetown and Silver Plume through mountainous terrain along with trestles, cuts, fills, and a grand loop.

First Steps, after Millet

This puzzle is based on Vincent van Gogh's painting called "First Steps, after Millet". While a patient at the asylum in Saint-Remy, Van Gogh painted twenty-one copies after Millet, an artist he greatly admired. The painting depicts a fenced-in garden behind a house and two parents encouraging their child to walk for the first time.

The Golden Pheasant, scientifically known as Chrysolophus pictus, is a colorful and visually stunning bird native to the mountainous regions of China and neighboring areas in Asia. It is also commonly referred to as the "Chinese Pheasant" or "Rainbow Pheasant" due to its vibrant plumage. Golden Pheasants prefer to inhabit dense forests, bamboo thickets, and shrubby mountainous areas. They are primarily ground-dwelling birds but are also capable of limited flight. These birds are omnivorous, feeding on a diet that includes seeds, berries, insects, and small reptiles.

Red Panda Playing In A Tree

In today's puzzle we feature a cute red panda playing in a tree. If you didn't know, the red panda is native to the eastern Himalayas and southwestern China and it's endangered. It is also called the lesser panda, the red bear-cat, and the red cat-bear. It is arboreal and feeds mainly on bamboo.

This fun and colorful puzzle is based on an oil on canvas painting by Childe Hassam (an American Impressionist painter). The painting depicts a panoramic view of Gloucester, Massachusetts, one of Hassam's favorite destinations.
