In today's puzzle we feature three cute pekin ducks playing around on the banks of a river. If you didn't known, the Pekin or White Pekin is a breed of domestic ducks. The Pekin is heavily feathered; the plumage is creamy white with a yellowish tinge. It has yellowish orange legs and feet. It's beak is short and also orange in color.

The beautiful bison featured in today's puzzle is part of a species of bison that once roamed North America in vast herds. It nearly became extinct in the 19th century. Today wild bison live largely in a few national parks and reserves. Bison are herbivores, grazing on the grasses and sedges of the prairies. They are migratory and herd migrations can be directional as well as altitudinal in some areas. Female bison live in maternal herds which include other females and their offspring. Males live alone or join other males in bachelor herds.

Today's puzzle is based on "The New Bonnet", a mid 19th-century oil on canvas painting by American artist Francis William Edmonds. The painting depicts a familial scene in which a woman receives a new bonnet. The family (a woman, her mother and father) are presented as being shocked by the price of the bonnet.

The vegetables in this beautiful still life painting are: okra(ladies' fingers or ochro), blue-green cabbage, crinkly Savoy cabbage, Hubbard squash, eggplant, balsam apple, tomatoes, and purple-red cabbage.
